IFAC World Congress 2014

The Flying Machine Arena (FMA) team gave two public lectures titled “Quadrocopter dynamics: a demonstration” during the IFAC World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa. The goal was to promote automatic control, and over 700 people attended the fully booked lectures. The audience ranged from professors of automatic control to school children interested in learning more about the technology. Using the Flying Machine Arena infrastructure, some underlying control concepts – such as the stability of a dynamic system – were visualized and made intuitive.
